He was predeceased by: his wife Hilda Grey Evans Pierce; and his parents, Howard Haywood Pierce and Laura Ophelia Young. He is survived by: his stepchildren, Geri Turner of Evergreen, Terri Lynn Hayes of Crusoe, James L. Hewett of Old Dock and Gregg W. Hewett; and his grandchildren, Mark Gore, Aaron Hayes (Francesca), Hillary Batten, Nicole Formyduval (Shane), Justin D. Williamson and Alora Hewett. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
