She was predeceased by: her parents, Julius Neal Hawes and Lucy Lympus Faulk Hawes; her husband Norman Cordis Benton; and her siblings, Hilbert H. Hawes and Dula Gray Hawes.
She is survived by: her daughters, Gloria Benton Fowler (Larry) of Nakina, NC and Lynne Benton Bryant (Lloyd) of Nakina, NC; her grandchildren, Rocky Bryant (Anya), Tracy Bryant (Tracy), Angel Fowler Korros (Ryan) and Larramie Fowler (Summer); her great grandchildren, Wesley, Roxanna, McKinley, Braylon, Rylan and Jack; and her stepgrandchild Jaclyn Ray.
