It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alex Hawes of Nakina, North Carolina, born in Columbus, North Carolina, who passed away on October 19, 2023, at the age of 54, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Kenneth D. Hawes; and his grandson Samuel Grant Williams. He is survived by: his mother Sara S. Hawes of Nakina; his wife Becky Powell Hawes; his daughters, Leah Grace Hawes and Hannah Hawes Williams (Matt); his brother Gregory D. Hawes (Angie); his nephews, Dalton Hawes and Chance Hawes; and his granddaughter Gracelyn Faith Williams of Nakina.
