He is survived by: his son Joseph Heflin (Lauren) of Tampa, Florida.; his parents, Dan Ashwell and Mary Ashwell of Sterling; his sisters, Cynthia Hall (Toma) of Fredericksburg and Alisa Keith (Erik) of Leesburg, Virginia.; his nephew Douglas Hall; his niece Stephanie Hall; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, MJ, Meadow "Meegee" and Marshall.
