He was predeceased by: his parents, Hazel Stoner Thornton and Emory Daniel Thornton; and his son Jeffrey Regan Thornton Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Carol Anne Stockdale Thornton; his son Todd Matthew Thornton (Natalie); and his grandchildren, Rose Elizabeth Thornton and Benjamin Reese Thornton.
