It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Wharton Votaw of Nags Head, North Carolina, born in Saint Louis, Missouri, who passed away on March 17, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Flora Wharton Votaw and Martin Votaw; and his siblings, Mary, Ruth and Martin.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Castine Votaw; his children, Susan Estep (Bobby), Charles Votaw, Jr. (JoAnne), John Votaw (Stephanie) and Dave Votaw (Dee Ann); and his grandchildren, Kecheri, Katie Beth, Tommy, Jenne, Joleena, Eliza, Maddy, Flora and Gabe.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Friends of Elizabeth II, PO Box 324, Manteo, NC 27954.
