With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Virginia Dale Penland Phillips in Murphy, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 10, 2024 at the age of 86. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifton Penland and Alma Penland; her husband Todd; and her siblings, Clifton Penland, Jr., Ray Penland and Frances Richard.
She is survived by: her children, Greg Phillips of Santa Monica, CA and Kim Bauer; her son-in-law Michael Bauer; her grandchildren, Madeline Armstrong (Ron White) and Erich Bauer; her great grandchild Remi White of Atlanta; her pets, Flora Bauer, Fosse and Gershwin Phillips; her sister Judie Ward (Buddy) of Houston, TX; and her nephews, Daryl Gibson, Keith Henderson, Jon Patrick Penland and Kimball Richard. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
