Though Vaughn Leroy may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Vaughn Leroy touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Lee and Evelyn Bramblett Day; and his brother Doctor Bryant Day. He is survived by: his wife Libby Day; his son Vaughn Day, Jr.; his siblings, Lamar Day (Leala) and Mary Simon (Tony); and his grandchildren, Vaughn "Trey" Day III and Kassandra "Kassie" Elizabeth Day.

Visitation was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Covenant Baptist Church (490 NC-294, Murphy, NC 28906). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

“Dear Libby and Family, My heart is hurting for the loss of this wonderful man! He was a gentleman, a true patriot, a good friend and of course a loyal Florida Gator! As well as you know, Vaughn and I grew up together and always was proud of the fact that we were true Titusville Natives. Our Families were intertwined in various events and happenings in Titusville. I loved his parents Lee and Evelyn. I will miss him terribly even though I only got up to see ya'll once a year.”
