It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Oletta Cornwell Garrett of Murphy, North Carolina, who passed away on January 17, 2024, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Rosssher Cornwell and Carmen Betty Hembree Cornwell; her son Derick Ross Garrett; and her siblings, Margaret Ann Adams, Betty Jones and Bill Cornwell.

She is survived by: her sons, Travis Garrett of Murphy and Joseph Wesley Garrett (Shannon Maney) of Murphy; her sister Theresa Duffie of Hayesville; her grandchildren, Christian Blake Silvers of Robbinsville and Rylan Garrett of Robbinsville; her cousin Jane Fain Matthews (Donny) of Cottage Grove, OR; and her close friend Jeremy Swanson (Renaee) of Murphy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
