She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmett Gibson and Anna Lou Dockery Gaddis; her husband Jack E. Thompson; and her brothers, E. G. Gaddis and Andrew Gaddis.
She is survived by: her son Emmett Thompson (Linda); her granddaughter Wendy Ward (Adam); and her great grandchildren, Addyson of Murphy, McKenna of Murphy and Ellyana Ward of Murphy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of food donations the family requests memorials be made in memory of Mary Ann Gaddis Thompson to, Murphy Free Methodist Church, 422 Valley River Avenue Murphy, North Carolina 28906.
