Jim Matheny Obituary

We are sad to announce that on October 18, 2024, at the age of 84, Jim Matheny of Murphy, North Carolina, born in Palatka, Florida passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Matheny and Henrietta McElroy; his brother Jerold Matheny; and his grandson James Dylan Bradshaw. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Matheny; his children, James Matheny III (Monique), Tonna Matheny and Shane Matheny; his brother John Matheny (Cathy); and his grandchildren, James Matheny IV, Garrett Matheny (Melissa), Bradley Matheny (Lisa), Tristen Matheny, Ashley Adams (Tommy), Kayla Harris and B. J. Smallwood. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family request to make donations to Grape Creek Cemetery Fund.
