He was predeceased by: his parents, James Shaffer and Janie Lewis Shaffer; his daughter Kim Tarantino; and his siblings, James Shaffer, Martha Hewlett, Mackie Fisher and Elizabeth Cline.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Ann Shaffer; and his sons, Al Shaffer (Lorraine) of Murphy and Bill Shaffer (Pam) of Murphy. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
