She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Murphy and Dora Allen Murphy; her husband Grover Chastain; and her brothers, Swinson Murphy, Wallace Murphy and Arvil Murphy.

She is survived by: her sons, Derrell Chastain and Bruce Chastain; her sisters, Reba Fowler, Carmel Worley and Loretta Herd; and her granddaughters, Terri Chastain and Misty Chastain Longieliere. She is also survived by six great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
