He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Hotchkiss and Helen Hall Hotchkiss; and his sister Joan. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Hotchkiss; his sons, Michael Hotchkiss (Lucia) of Sunrise and Brian Hotchkiss of Madison, Wisconsin; his grandchildren, Tara Ireland (Matt) of Topeka, Kelsey of San Francisco, Arianna of Madison, Stephen of St. Petersburg and Matthew of Austin Texas; and also Ava Ireland of Topeka, Kansas..

A memorial service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Murphy First United Methodist Church (73 Valley River Ave, Murphy, NC 28906).
