He is survived by: his wife Helen Hicks Burleson; his children, Louis Burleson (Chrysta) of Daytona Beach, FL, Lynne Brown (Gary) of Conway, NC, Elizabeth Pittman (Bruce) of Ahoskie, NC, Rebecca Leary (William) of Murfreesboro, NC and Katherine Joyner (Eric) of Washington, NC; his grandchildren, Emily Joyner of Greenville, NC, Christine Peduto (Jason) of Broken Arrow, OK, Richard Burleson of Iowa City, IA, Sara Grimes (Patrick) of Washington, NC, Elizabeth Hinson of Conway, NC, Jenny Burleson of Daytona Beach, FL and Will Leary of Murfreesboro, NC; his great grandchildren, Carolina Grimes, Chloe Grimes of Washington, NC and Kaelyn Hinson of Conway, NC; and his sisters-in-law, Bettie Pate of Ahoskie, NC and Marion Hicks of Chapel Hill, NC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
