He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Harrell and Sallie Mae Castelloe Harrell; his children, Russel David, Brian Jeffrey Harrell and Kris Campbell; and his siblings, Willie Mae Reese, Lillian Davis, Earl Harrell of Jack Harrell, J. C and Buddy Harrell.

He is survived by: his friend Duke Blue Devils; his wife Shirley; his daughters, Stephanie Conner (Chris) of Murfreesboro and Ellen King of Nevada; his grandchildren, Liam Blake Conner of Murfreesboro and Hartleigh Rose Conner of Murfreesboro; and his sisters, Helen Newby of Plymouth and Hazel Cooksey of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Brent Danieks wrote a sympathy message

“I am sorry to hear of Buck’s passing. I have walked a many a mile beside Buck pheasant and quail hunting in Kansas. He was about the best shooting eye that I have ever seen. He was good to his dogs and just full of laughter. I will be in prayer for the family. Sincerely, Brent Daniels Webster Daniels’s youngest son.”
