He was predeceased by: his parents, Eules Ralph (Hawkins) and Mabel Hamrick Hawkins; his sister Nancy Howe; and his son-in-law Ricky Britt. He is survived by: his wife Reba Hale Hawkins; his children, Jerri Lynn Britt of Harrellsville, NC, Rebecca Hawkins of Glen Allen, VA and Chris Hawkins (Amy) of Glen Allen, VA.; his grandchildren, Lee Britt of Harrellsville, NC, Joel Britt (Bridget) of Edenton, NC, Dillon Surwilo of Arizona, Clare Surwilo of Mississippi, Zoe Hawkins of Glen Allen, VA and Jackson Hawkins of Glen Allen, VA; his great grandchildren, Dixon of Edenton, Wiley of Edenton and Macie Britt of Edenton; his siblings, Keith Hawkins (Freida) of Shelby, NC and Mary Norman of Rock Hill, SC; and his sister-in-law Dorothy Mercer of Midlothian, VA. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Riverside Cemetery. A reception will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Tavern (125 Main St, Murfreesboro, NC 27855).
