He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Johnnie Newsome, Sr. and Jeanette Beaton Newsome; his daughter Benita Newsome Taylor (Cedric); his stepdaughters, Rita W. Abraham (Spencer) of Greensboro, NC and Ivy-Lisa Caudle of Scotland Neck, NC; and his siblings, Maggie N. Williams of Murfreesboro, NC, William "Bubba" Newsome (Ernestine) of Ahoskie, NC, Doretha Lee (Wallace) of Murfreesboro, NC and Marion Smith of Murfreesboro, NC. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws and many friends.
