He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Corey Lassiter and Herbert Carroll Lassiter; the mother of his children Faye Lassiter; his sister Betty Jones; and his granddaughter Dawn Owens.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Vinson Lassiter; his children, Sandra Emory (Tim) of Tyner, NC, David Lassiter (Sheila) of Ahoskie, NC, Ken Lassiter (Greta) of Rich Square, NC and Edward Thum (Angel) of Pinehurst, NC.; his grandchildren, Braxton Lassiter (Bridgette), Travis Lassiter (Rachel), Chris Emory (Brenda), Ryan Emory (Renay Crystal Bazemore), Heather Wrenn (Kevin), Madison Dick (James) and Brooke Thum (Michael); his great grandchildren, Claire, Kendall, Blake, Carson, Mikayla, Corey, Jesse, Gracelynn, Addison and Carter; and his pet Princess.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Garrett-Sykes - Ahoskie Chapel (205 NC-42, Ahoskie, NC 27910). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service - Ahoskie Chapel (205 NC-42, Ahoskie, NC 27910).
