He was predeceased by: his mother Mildred Christie; and his brother Clay Christie. He is survived by: his father William Sr. Christie; his wife Doris Christie of Mount Ulla, NC; his children, Phillip Christie (Michelle) of Houston, TX and Rhonda Cleary (Richard Cleary) of Salisbury, NC; his grandchildren, Phillip Christie Jr. of Clarksville, TN, Joshua Christie of Hawkes Bay, Zackary Christie of Houston, TX and Samantha Simerson of Woodleaf, NC; and his great grandchildren, Emma Hellard of Salisbury, NC, Beverly Hellard of Salisbury, NC, Phoebe Christie of Clarksville, TN and Niklaus Leonard of Woodleaf, NC. He is also survived by his family and he will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather (better known as Papaw), brother, uncle & a friend.
