He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Hawes and Glenna McDowell Hawes; his wife Josephine Dixon Hawes; and his brothers, Harold Hawes and Milton E. Hawes II.
He is survived by: his daughters, Fran Hawes and Jessie Graham (Chris); and his grandchildren, Dylan, Randi Leigh, Rylee Jo and Rachel. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
