Ruth Canup Obituary

We are sad to announce that on January 12, 2024, at the age of 96, Ruth Canup of Mount Ulla, North Carolina, born in Oakboro, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Spurgeon Hartsell and Emma Smith Hartsell; her husband Hauley Leroy Canup; her brothers, Kenneth Hartsell and Denton Hartsell; and her son Darrell Calebro.

She is survived by: her children, Leonard Calebro (Wanje), Sandy Nance (Scott), Rick Canup (Diane) and Johnny Canup (Jean); her daughter-in-law Donna Calebro; and her grandchildren, Scott Cook (Alinda), Jeff Cook (Kim), John Canup, Jr. (Tosha), Joey Canup, Kristin Dowling (Parker) and Nichole Warren (Ian).
