He was predeceased by: his sister Betty Holt; and his granddaughter Faith Walther. He is survived by: his wife Mary Lee Davis Parker; his children, David E. Parker, Richard L. Parker (Dorcas), Kimberly Rector (Thurman) and Melanie Archie (Charlie Salem); and his sister Ann McLaughlin. He is also survived by grandchildren and twenty four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Centenary United Methodist Church, 620 Centenary Church Rd., Mt. Ulla, NC 28125.
