Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Walter Wayne Jernigan (Mount Pleasant, North Carolina), born in Wartrace, Tennessee, who passed away at the age of 88, on May 14, 2020. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Jernigan and Ola Jernigan; and his grandson Walter Jr.. He is survived by: his daughters, Judith, Donna (Rick Thompson), Alma, Jane and Carol; his wife Virginia; and his brother Willard. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial for friends and family will be at a later date due to the impact of the current pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his name can be made to the Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust or local animal shelter.
