He was predeceased by: his son Ronnie Eugene Smith; his grandson Christopher "BoBo" Shue; his siblings, George Smith and Patsy Honeycutt; and his nephew Jeffery Lambert.
He is survived by: his grandchild Lulu; his wife Mildred Burris Smith; his children, Jackie Hallman (Daniel), Timmie Smith (Debra) and Johnny Smith (Shelia Benton); his daughter-in-law Debbie Smith; and his sister Sarah Eudy. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
