He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend William C. Lyerly and Helen Lentz Lyerly; and his brothers, Bill, Ray and Albert.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Auten Lyerly; his daughter Susan Lyerly-Jennette; his grandchildren, Madison Jennette, Caison and Landon Jennette; and his sister-in-law Jean Rushing. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
