She is survived by: her sons, Michael (Melissa McCumber) of Pikeville, Jeff (Debbie McCumber) of Rosewood and Ashley McCumber (Craig DaVini) of Raleigh; her sisters, Mildred T. Wilson of Indiana and Betty T. Whaley of Chinquapin; her grandchildren, Jeffery Scott McCumber (Andrea McCumber), Zachary McCumber and Victoria "Tori" Carol McCumber; her great grandchild Hollis McCumber; her stepgrandson Brayden Wells; her husband Michael William Cosgrove; her parents, Henry Felix Thornton and Clyde Horne Thornton; and her siblings, Paul Haney, Percy Clayton Haney, Ellen Bearden, Eugene Thornton, Jerry Thornton, John Henry Thornton, Charlie Thornton, Lonnie Thornton, Norwood Thornton, Lela Ezzell, Emma Williams and Evelyn Compton.
Officiating will be the Rev. Jeffery Scott McCumber and the Rev. Andrea McCumber. in lieu of flowers, it is the request of the family that donations be made to Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina (http://www.foodbankcenc.org), or Kitty Askins Hospice Center (https.://http://www.3hc.org), or the charity of one's choice.
