He was predeceased by: his wife Joan Summerlin Bell Holmes; his parents, Drifty Holmes and Minnie Lee Arnett Holmes; and his siblings, Patricia H. Bowden, Wanda H. Davis, Wayne Holmes, Randy Holmes and Hoyt Lee Holmes.
He is survived by: his daughter Cheryl Lee Albritton (Michael); his grandchildren, Paula Brady and Frankie Brady (Katie); his great grandchildren, Kaylee Asberry, Kaydin Brady, Kynley Prayer, Kamdyn, Kyasac Latimore, Elijah and Cali Brady; his stepgrandchildren, John Robert Overton (Cassie), Pamela Oles (Chris), Jamison Bell, Dexter Bell and Travis Bell; and his siblings, Milton "Buddy" (Phyllis Holmes), Katherine H. Craft, Raeford (Sharon Holmes), Pamela H. (Douglas Swinson) and Joey (Crystal Holmes).
