It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shelton Blanton (Mount Olive, North Carolina), who passed away on January 18, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Edward Blanton and Sadie Hines Blanton; and his brother Louis Blanton. He is survived by: his wife Ann May Blanton; his children, Deems Shelton Blanton of Mount Olive, Jan B. (Craig Jackson) and Joy B. (Jimmy Bayles); his grandchildren, Sebastian Jackson (Brittany), Regan Jackson, Maygan Jackson, Martin Bayles and Benjamin Bayles; his great grandchildren, Cason Jackson and Grace Brown; and his siblings, Dempsey Blanton (Merry) of Florida, Arnold Blanton (Edythe) of Dudley, Lucy Jeffreys of Greenville, Meriel Levy of Mount Olive and Margaret Blanton of Mount Olive. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Blanton was an ardent supporter of his fellowman with his generous blood donations.
