He is survived by: his wife Julia Millard Thigpen; his children, Douglas Thigpen (Cindy) of Mount Olive and Lori Thigpen Jernigan of Faison; his grandchildren, Julie Thigpen Stanley (Charles), Cameron Thigpen (Amber), Mikayla Cavenaugh and Jayden Jernigan; and his siblings, Kathy Thigpen of Calypso, Jeff Thigpen (Kim) of Kenansville and Steve Thigpen (Teresa) of Calypso.
