With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lloyd Sutton Sr. of Mount Olive, North Carolina, born in Wayne County, North Carolina, who passed away on December 20, 2022 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parent Leonidas Gordon Sutton; his siblings, Leon Sutton, Floyd Sutton, Cleo Boyette, Mable Sutton and Myrtle Justice; and his son-in-law Jay Landers.
He is survived by: his daughters, Katherine Hansen (Craig) of Mount Olive, Elizabeth Landers of Mount Olive and Trish Shantz (George) of Mount Olive; his grandson Lloyd Sutton, Jr. (Dawn) of Venice, Florida.; his sister Lorraine Britt of Faison; and his siblings-in-law, Dottie Sutton of Utah and Reggie Hines of Mount Olive. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and spouses, and 13 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lloyd's memory may be made to Mount Olive Fire Department (P.O. Box 939, Mount Olive, NC 28365) where he was a volunteer fireman for more than 20 years; or to the charity of one's choice.
