He was predeceased by: his parents, Jarvis Carter and Patty Belle F. Carter. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Goodman Carter; his daughter Jennifer C. Lewis; his son-in-law Duane Lewis; his grandson Carter D. Lewis; his siblings, Barbara C. Glover, Mike Carter (Wanda) and Mark Carter (Randy); and his sister-in-law Janice Goodman Pate.
