She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Whitfield and Minnie Hill Whitfield; her siblings, Hazel W. Jones, Harold Whitfield, Bobby Whitfield and Franklin "Bug" Whitfield; her husband Alton "Tootie" Lane; and her son Timothy Lane (Melinda Lane).
She is survived by: her daughters, Tammie Lane Strickland of Mount Olive and Cristy Lane Goodwin (Jonathan Goodwin); her grandchildren, Nikki Lane Hines (Wilson) of Mount Olive, Tiffany Lane Williams (Lyle) of Mount Olive, Alton Strickland of Mount Olive and Ethan Goodwin of Calypso; her great grandchildren, Anna Hines of Mount Olive, Emma Hines of Mount Olive and Gabriel Williams of Mount Olive; and her siblings, Helen W. Britt of Mount Olive and Rex Whitfield of Mount Olive. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
