It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hilda Oates Jones (Mount Olive, North Carolina), who passed away on April 28, 2023, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Eddis Lamont Jones; her daughter Sandra Jones Sasser; and her parents, John Martin Oates and Blanche Sutton Oates. She is survived by: her daughters, Glenda Jones Lane of Goldsboro and Gail Jones Connell (Dan Connell); her son-in-law Paul L. Sasser of Mount Olive; her grandchildren, Raymond Dale Overman, Jr. (Jenny) of Fort Mill, SC, Alexander Lehman Sasser (Meredith) of Wilmington, Bradley Eddis Connell (Robin) of Beaufort, NC and Duffy Connell Huffman (Bryan) of Beaufort, NC; and her great grandchildren, Catherine Overman, Charlotte Overman, Noah Huffman, Faith Huffman, Mary Ann Connell and James Connell. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
