He was predeceased by: his wife Paula Summerlin Malpass; his daughter Codi Lynn Malpass; his stepmother Doris Malpass; his stepbrother David Miller; and his grandmother Eula Barwick Malpass.
He is survived by: his parents, Julia Coltren Phillips of Hephzibah, Georgia and Ellis Malpass, Jr.; his grandson Ayden Hernandez; his siblings, Stephanie Hunt (Michael) of Seagrove, Michelle Knipe of Morehead City, Tina Gathings (Lynn) of Ernul and Ronnie Malpass (Emily) of Seven Springs; and his stepsiblings, Scotty Glass of Mount Olive and Crystal Holland (Kenny) of Selma. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
