He was predeceased by: his parents, William John "Bill" Swinson and Ena Mae Sullivan Swinson; his brothers, William John "Billy" Swinson, Jr., Robert Anthony Swinson and Henry Nelson Swinson; and his brothers-in-law, Haran Nelson Waters and Rufus Barron Harrell.
He is survived by: his sisters, Clementine S. Waters, Ramona S. Harrell and Deloris S. Outlaw; and his sister-in-law Sandra G. Swinson of Mount Olive. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
