He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Erna Mae Cooke Walker; his parents, Commodore Perry Walker and Martha Elizabeth McArthur; his children, James Derl (Jim), Cheryl Walker of Kinston, David Cooke (Karen Walker), Lynda Lorelle Walker of Mount Olive and Derk Gray (Anna Walker); and his brother Perry MacDonald Walker (Mary) of Wilmington.
