He was predeceased by: his parents, Durwood Lee and Cleone Bowden King. He is survived by: his wife Jeanne Cherry King; his children, Brian Lee King (Karen Levy King) of Weddington, NC and Megan S. Hill (Tim Hill) of Mount Olive; his grandchildren, Trent King, Morgan King, Bryson Hill, Emersyn Hill and Everly Hill; his siblings, Kent (Lois King) of Worthington, Randy (Angela King) of Mount Olive, Teresa K. (Vic Swinson) of Mount Olive, Sherri K. (Jimmy Coley) of Mount Olive and Guelda K. (David Hunt) of Fayetteville; his cousin Ray Brodgen (Ellen Brubeck Brogden) of Mount Olive; his pets, Marlie and Bailey; and his caregiver Nikki Wolfe. He is also survived by several other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:45 PM at the Tyndall Funeral Home (1005 N Church St, Mt Olive, NC 28365). A committal service was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Wayne Memorial Park. A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Tyndall Funeral Home (1005 N Church St, Mt Olive, NC 28365).
