He was predeceased by: his parents, James Earl "Jim" Grady, Sr. and Mildred Summerlin Grady; and his brother James Earl Grady, Jr. (Dwight Delano Grady, Sr.). He is survived by: his wife Michele Tucker Grady; his children, Ambre Grady Jenkins of Greenville and Benjamin Lewis Grady, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Ashley Grady of Faison; his grandchildren, Cole Grady, Claire Grady, Will Jenkins and Shea Jenkins; his brothers, Jerry Grady of Mount Olive and Billie Carol Grady of Mount Olive; his sisters-in-law, Steve Grady of Mount Olive, Betty Lou Grady of Mount Olive and Brenda Grady of Waynesville; his close friend Reginald Hines, Jr.; and also, Bobby Tucker, Dean Tucker, Donnie Tucker and Carolyn Tucker Kenyon. He is also survived by spouses; and several nieces and nephew.
