He was predeceased by: his parent Ovella Kale; his wife Sandra Kay Gyier; and his grandchildren, Angel Grindstaff and Timothy Ray Gyier. He is survived by: his children, Tina Grindstaff, Velma Emerson, Quentin Gyier, Deborah Howard (Scott) and William Gyier (Joanna). He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
