He was predeceased by: his parents, Roland Massengill and Mary Capps Massengill. He is survived by: his pet Cassie; his wife Sharon "Shay" Massengill; his children, Jessie Poteat (Danny), Rebecca "Gurt" Guffey (Brent) and Sam Mullis (Bryan); his brothers, John Massengill (Cathy), Johnny Walker, Wayne Walker, Glenn and Dennis Massengill; and his grandchildren, Tyler, Jeremiah, Jacob, Tristian, Cameron and Zoey.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to help the children of Webb Street School, 1623 N Webb St. Gastonia, NC 28052 which Roland helped annually.
