He was predeceased by: his parents, Frances Morris Payne and Fred Lewis Payne; and his brother Mike Lewis Payne (Teresa Anderson Payne). He is survived by: his wife Teresa; his children, Michelle Leigh Payne Hersey (Ronnie), David Ray Payne (Kathy) and Amanda Kay Payne Beaty (Chad) of King's College; and his grandsons, Nickalas Ray Payne, Robert Lewis Hersey (Robbie) and Sawyer Lee Beaty.
