He was predeceased by: his father Mike Patterson; and his brother Cless Patterson. He is survived by: his mother Emma Dodson; his wife Tiffany Stanton; his children, Joseph, Hailey and Maximus; and his siblings, Richard Patterson, Christy Meeks and Harley Sharpe.

Joe remained on the ventilator until October 2nd to test and match his organs for donation.
