He was predeceased by: his parent Ernest Riley; his wife Clementine Rose Riley; his daughter Rose Eudy; his siblings, Virginia Riley, Ernestine Pope (Tinny) and Paul Riley; and his aunts and uncles, Willard Barber, Junior Barber, Mable Moss, Christine Barber and Margaret Bryant.
He is survived by: his parent Berthie May Barber Riley; his son Ernest Helms; his sister Patricia Riley; and his grandchildren, Steve Melton, Jr., Chris Melton, Lisa Melton, Charity Henson and Danielle Melton. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; and eight great great-grandchildren.
