She was predeceased by: her husband Claude James Kirkland; and her parents, Louis F. Ball and Artie Winfrey Ball. She is survived by: her children, Ed Kirkland of Taylorsville, James Kirkland of Shelby, Virginia Kirkland Smith (Harold) of Mount Holly, Ronald Kirkland (Cathy) of Stanley and Mike Kirkland (Terri) of Stanley; her grandchildren, Nicole McCabe (Gary) of Raleigh, Chad Kirkland (Christina) of Ranlo, Jennifer Bolin (Brentt) of Stanley, Candice Phillips (Paul) of Charlotte, Anna Kirkland of Stanley, Jason Kirkland (Crystal) of Stanley and Justin Kirkland (Becky) of Kings Mountain; her great grandchildren, Joseph, Nicholas, Liam, Emily Rose of Raleigh, Kira, Levi, Leia of Ranlo, Austin, Trevor, Jaxon of Stanley, Lillian of Stanley, Andrew of Gastonia, Blake, Paisley, Elaina of Stanley, Abigail, Samuel, Benny, Gabryl and Allyssa of Kings Mountain; and her brother Herman Ball (Hilda) of Cheraw. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
