He was predeceased by: his parents, Preston Morton and Maggie Horne Morton; his wife Mildred Rabon Morton; his siblings, Presaline Clark, Inez Burton and Annie Mae Clark; his son-in-law John E. Jones; and his close friend Nell Crouse.
He is survived by: his children, Dale Robert Morton (Terri) of Dallas, Dean Edmund Morton of Mount Holly and Diana Jones of Cramerton; his granddaughters, Dawn Jones Baxley (Preston), Wendy Jones McGinnis (Brian), Joanna Jones Ritchie and Jaclyn Morton Duncan (Kendall); his great grandchildren, Brianna McGinnis, Camden McGinnis, Cole Baxley, Tenley Ritchie and Emma Grace Duncan; and his brother Clifton Lee Morton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
