He was predeceased by: his mother Elizabeth Ann Burlett Bishop; his siblings, Patricia McCarthy and Steven Setzer; and his wife Debra Setzer. He is survived by: his father Bobby Ray Setzer; his children, Michael, Travis, Darren (Elizabeth) and Shaun Setzer; and his siblings, Edward Setzer and Deborah Guy (Lewis). He is also survived by nine grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Mount Holly Fire Department Auxiliary, P.O. Box 406 Mount Holly, NC 28120.
