He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joan S. Ayers (Lyon); his children, Julie A. Mortenson (Ayers), William E. Ayers II (Billy), John E Ayers and Wendy L. Ayers; his father Miles E. Ayers; his brother Daniel A. Ayers; his uncle Don Burdick; his mother Marjorie E Ayers (Burdick); his siblings, Tom, Jim, Paul, David and Marjorie J.; his nephew Bruce Ayers; his niece Denice Vaughn (Bowen); and his daughter Alicia J. Mortenson. He was also cherished by children and their spouses, numerous grand children and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
