He was predeceased by: his parents, Murphy Asbury and Sally DeBerry McRae; and his wife Mildred Eudy McRae. He is survived by: his son Danny "Whitey" McRae (Lisa) of Mt. Gilead; his grandchildren, Michelle McRae Millen (Bruce) of Mt. Gilead and Ken Alexander McRae (Christy) of Mt. Gilead; his great grandchildren, Robert Tyler Yarboro, Abigail Lea Yarboro and Gage Alexander McRae; his son Jerry Samuel McRae; his daughter-in-law Soundra Harris McRae; and his siblings, Buck McRae, Jay Bird McRae, John McRae, Myrtle Hudson, Mary Brewer, Fannie Madaris, Sarah Diminich and Jackie Byrd.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to OE Enterprises (Formerly Randolph County Sheltered Workshop, where his son worked, 348 Elizabeth Brady Road, Hillsboro, NC 27278).
