He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Russell and Gladys Morris Russell; and his brothers, Harry and Tobe Russell. He is survived by: his wife Kay Redwine Russell; his daughter Donna Russell Garcia of Ellerbe; and his siblings, Sammy Russell (Cindy) of Mt. Gilead, Shirley Russell of Troy, Doris Haithcock of Mt. Gilead, Helen Bivens (Steve) of Salisbury and Mozelle Deaton (Gary) of Mt. Gilead. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and four step-grandchildren.
